14th Swiss Conference on Biomaterials (SSB2008)

The conference is co-organized by the Biomaterials Science Center (BMC) and the Laboratory of Orthopedic Biomechanics (LOB) both part of the Focus "Clinical Morphology and Biomedical Engineering" of the Medical Faculty at the University of Basel, hosted by the University Hospital Basel.

In 2001 the meeting was oriented towards titanium in medicine, 2002 - ceramics, 2003 - polymers and allergies, 2004 - Tissue Engineering, 2005 - Surface Treatment Technologies, Absorbables, Degradables, and Resorbables 2006, 2007 - Micro- and Nanotechnologies in Medical Applications: Risks and Opportunities.

Our 2008 theme, and focus of the morning sessions, is Mechanics of Cell & Materials Interactions. Traditionally the afternoon sessions and posters are open to all aspects of biomaterials science.

Call for papers: Preference for oral presentations will be given to those devoted to this topic. Poster contributions in all aspects of biomaterials are welcome.
